and a change in style

due to an enduring cold. But – and I can already hear my friend Natascha saying "she's running again for the frau dr. loebl award!" – why are there waterbottles telling me that this water is fat-free? and why is the sun shining on the whole los angeles-area except for malibu beach?
But nothing compares to my wonderful view on the interstate 5, the palm trees, a black cat on the porch and a masonic temple in the neighbourhood! For a start ...

LOS first glimpses

where we found – against all expectations:

we finally escaped to an idyllic lake ...

what you don't see in this picture was literally attacking from the back: a picturesque village packed with middle-aged German tourists, responsible for the worst hotel-coffee I ever had!!

new perspectives caught our eyes before

cutting edge architecture and

Flying cigarettes ...

Then went

from an old aluminium factory to a post office to a train station and back to a factory again ...

London/Heathrow

Die Kurzstreckenflüge werden billiger, die Langstrecken offenbar teurer, but where to get aspirine, a toothbrush and a bottle of water, that is not infused with vitamin A, D or some esoteric-obscure mixture of herbs that boost your beauty, your brain activity, your process of cell division or alltogether?! Wohl kaum bei Prada (oder they should strongly consider that..).
Was tun, wenn man nicht konsumieren will? In Heathrow you can still find zones equipped with plenty of seats in between all this consumerism frenzy. .... getting the connection to a  similar procedure...?
Back to the shops - for me it was striking to see a new form of window-display having conquered its way through all different shops and labels. I would call it the "letter case-display" – mangels besseren Wissens. Items put on a display like this, they look more precious or at least a mixture of precious, odd and unique. And it is much easier to put as many things as possible into one window without looking cheap.
I could track the system up to an H&M branch in a shopping mall in Glendale. The most artificial mall, I've ever been to. By now ...
